Part One: The Convenience!
Convenience: A twenty year veteran of real estate at my brokerage figured that the average transaction involves almost 800 texts, phone calls, and emails. Between coordinating photographers and staging experts to market your home, getting it listed online, hosting open houses, talking with potential buyers/buying agents, mortgage officers, title companies, inspections, and coordinating repairs, there is an almost endless list of things that need to happen and people to talk to. I can personally vouch that the day of the open house for my last listing resulted in 37 phone calls, 26 emails, and 92 texts in the space of about 6 hours. If each communication requires only 5 minutes of your undivided attention, that’s about 4000 minutes/66 hours of your time that you need to devote to just talking to people about selling your house. As most of these will take place during business hours, you better plan on taking a lot of breaks during work!
